Carol M. Langford is a San Francisco Bay Area attorney specializing in legal ethics and discipline. She advises attorneys, judges, law firms, and corporations and represents lawyers and law students before the California State Bar. A nationally recognized expert witness in ethics, she previously served as a partner at Carroll, Burdick & McDonough, where she was ethics advisor to the firm.
Ms. Langford has co-authored two books, including the widely used textbook Legal Ethics in the Practice of Law, and has taught ethics as an adjunct professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law since 1992, as well as at UC Berkeley and Hastings. She has chaired multiple committees for the State Bar of California and the ABA, and served as ethics consultant to the Judicial Council of California.
She has received numerous honors, including the Woman of the Year Award for “Women Who Seek Justice” and the Lichtenstein Distinguished Professorship of Legal Ethics Award from Hofstra University.
