"Real Estate Hot Buttons: The Most Litigated Issues Everyone Should Know"

This seminar will touch on the most heavily litigated real estate issues that occur both during and post-transaction, as well as current hot topics in real estate, including the antitrust lawsuits leading to industry-wide changes regarding agent compensation, as well as the legal implications of the use of AI in real estate marketing and transactions.
About the Presenter
Alex Kavalaris is currently General Counsel and VP of Intero Real Estate Services, a prominent residential and commercial real estate brokerage with offices throughout Northern California and Nevada. Prior to joining Intero, Alex was a civil litigator with a practice focused on real estate, general business litigation, and construction litigation. Alex was a partner at the law firm of Ventura Hersey & Muller, LLP, which acted as outside counsel for Intero for many years.
In her role as General Counsel, Alex provides legal representation to the company and the nearly 1500 real estate agents associated with Intero and manages the company’s overall legal strategy. A former lecturer for the Santa Clara County Association of Realtors (SCCAOR) on changes in real estate law, legal requirements for brokers, and avoiding litigation, she also previously served on the Business and Litigation Executive Board for the Santa Clara County Bar Association. Alex is a graduate of Santa Clara University (SCU) School of Law and holds bachelor’s degrees in political science and English from SCU.
Alex lives in Aptos and currently serves on the Boards of the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Cruz County and the Intero Foundation.
